The Mechanicals Band explore the life and work of the poet Philip Larkin through music and theatre, setting a selection of his words to new music and highlighting biographical detail through scenes, featuring a small group of actors.
The musicians and actors involved, like Larkin, were born in Coventry and wish to celebrate the work and perpetuate the legacy of one of the city’s most famous sons.
This hybrid show is supported by Shoot Festival, The Philip Larkin Society and Hull Archives.
The Mechanicals Band are delighted to bring it to the city that was Larkins home for so many years.
