Join us at Burton Constable Hall as we step back in time to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day! This family-friendly event promises a wonderful day of community, remembrance, and celebration, honouring the spirit of 1945.
Experience the sights and sounds of the era with live music, a wind band, and energetic swing dancing – join in with the “Give It a Go” sessions! Stroll through our parkland and take part in outdoor games like tug of war and sack races, where you can compete against others for victory. Enjoy themed trails, and hands-on crafts for all ages.
Indulge in classic treats, including traditional fish and chips, the VE Day Official Orange and Ginger Cake, and a refreshing gin and tonic, while soaking in the nostalgic atmosphere. Bring your own picnic to enjoy in our beautiful parkland, or treat yourself to one of our special preordered picnic boxes*.
To complete the experience, we invite everyone to dress in 1940s attire, whether it’s military uniforms, tea dresses, or wartime-inspired outfits, we’d love to see your vintage style!
Entry is free, but a donation is greatly appreciated to help preserve our historic hall and parkland for future generations.
