An evening of sound and performance exploring echoes of our industrial city, of domestic weight and collective resilience. You are invited to collaborate, in silence or in sound. To be co-held, to speak, to talk, to touch. Opening space for your words and energies to be transformed into live soundscapes. If no one shows up, there’s is no sound. About the artists:

Chanelle Windas

Chanelle Windas is a multidisciplinary artist based in Hull, East Yorkshire. She graduated at Central Saint Martins in 2022, after being the first in her family to attend university. Chanelle is passionate about uncovering working class histories and narrative through art and is the co-founding director of the Working Class Creatives Database. She sees art as a powerful tool for self-expression and protest, with the potential to drive positive change and growth both individually and on a broader societal level. Her work adopts various approaches and strategies, which explore her own family narrative and working class history. These are sometimes bold, most times tender, serving as gentle acts of protest.

Stewart Baxter

Stewart Baxter is a Hull-based multidisciplinary artist, composer, and sound-maker, working under the alias BØMBED BUILDINGS. Through Bombed Buildings he creates immersive, meditative soundscapes built from prepared loops, samples, and effected instruments. His commissioned works for organisations including Freedom Festival, Hull City Council, and Help Musicians UK have responded to architecture, memory, and community voice. Stewart also curates DØTE, an experimental label and event series that platforms adventurous sound and interdisciplinary art, building opportunities for under-represented artists in Hull.
