Students and teachers from Collingwood, Alderman Cogan’s, St Mary Queen of Martyrs and Ings Primary Schools took part in a series of poetry workshops, encouraging them to explore and create poetry.
Inspired by the theme of freedom, schools worked with poets Chis McCabe, Shazea Quraishi, Joseph Coelho, Kate Fox and Sophie Herxheimer to play, create, speak and live poetry for a week.
The poems were featured in a poetry anthology created for National Poetry Day by Forward Arts Foundation created as the national resources for other schools to use.
