Our Six Weeks of Summer guide helps you and your family plan fun and creative activities during the summer holidays. With weekly challenges and plenty of events to attend, our guide shows you there’s something new to do every single week in Hull and it doesn’t have to break the bank.
Whether it’s tasting flavours from around the world, crafting your very own puppet or taking in some of Hull’s incredible history, you’ll be spoilt for choice. So, how can you get in on the action?
It’s pretty simple. Grab one of our handy guides from the Hull 2017 Information Pod in Paragon Interchange, or download a guide and print it at home.
Once you have your guide, you’ll notice there’s a weekly Challenge Hull to get stuck into. From exploring your local park to mastering the art of origami, these challenges are designed to get the whole family together to try something new. They’re all free to do, and you can share your creations using #ChallengeHull – we might even share it ourselves!
If you fancy joining us to complete the challenges, we’ll be setting up camp in three parks between 26 and 28 July and we’ll be stationed across five different libraries per week between 31 July and 1 September. Full details are available in the guide, but everyone is invited and we can’t wait to see you.
Alongside our weekly challenge, you’ll spot six fantastic events that we’ve cherry picked just for you. From an exhibition about Hull City FC, to the jaw-dropping Humber Street Sesh, a gigantic suspended whale and play time at Humber Street Gallery, there’s lots on offer for families and children of all ages.
If that’s not enough, our guide features some of the brilliant local events hosted in Hull year upon year, with Yum! Festival and Freedom Festival both guaranteed summer highlights. Humber Street Gallery has plenty for the kids to enjoy throughout the summer, and Hull’s museums and art galleries can be enjoyed all year round, completely free of charge.
