Levens Choir concert – “A Choral Showcase”. Sacred music, madrigals and folk songs with something for everyone.
The award-winning Levens Choir from South Cumbria will perform a varied programme with selections from the “Missa Sancti Christophori” by Antonio Lotti and “Lux Aeterna” by contemporary American composer Morten Lauridsen. The concert will also feature sacred music by Stanford, Victoria and Bruckner, madrigals including Gibbons’ sublime “The Silver Swan” and a number of folk items. Truly a choral showcase containing something for everyone! The choir will be conducted by Ian Jones and accompanied by Andy Plowman
