A Dickens of a Christmas

FERENS ART GALLERY, Queen Victoria Square, Hull, HU1 3RA

15 Dec 2022

2pm

FREE

Join Cultural Historian Tim Stimson for a lively and entertaining lecture on local Christmas past.

In this lecture we will invoke the authentic Spirit of Christmas! Though this grand old institution dates in origin to pre-Christian mid-winter festivals, its modern guise is distinctly Victorian, with Dickens` “Christmas Carol,” very much at its heart.

For an hour forget commercialization & immerse yourself in historic images courtesy of Hull`s own Reference Library & warm yourself at the fireside of our best loved Christmas author.

Join Cultural Historian Tim Stimson for a lively and entertaining lecture on local Christmas past.
