This event of BBC Gardeners’ Question Time is hosted by Newland Allotments. All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards raising funds for Newland Allotments’ ongoing projects and community initiatives. Newland Allotments is a vital part of our local community, providing space for gardening enthusiasts and supporting sustainable practices.
What to Expect from the Evening:
During the evening, two episodes of Gardeners’ Question Time will be recorded with the chance for live questions from our audience. Please arrive from 5 PM so you have time to submit a gardening question. The panel of judges will read through all the questions before choosing the audience members that will be taking part.
Important Information:
- Recording Details: Two episodes of Gardeners’ Question Time will be recorded during the evening. Ensure you arrive on time to participate in this unique event. If you arrive late, we are unable to allow access to the auditorium once recording has started.
- Air Dates: The episodes recorded at this event will be aired on BBC Radio 4 at 3 PM on 17th September and 2 PM on 19th September, and at 3 PM on 24th September and 2 PM on 26th September.
- Refreshments: Refreshments will be available for purchase from the café in Middleton Hall.
- Accessibility: General seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, and wheelchair spaces are available. Please notify us when booking if you need a wheelchair space.
- Tickets: Advance ticket access only. There will be no tickets sold at the door.
- Minors: Only permitted from the age of 10 upwards and must be accompanied by an adult.
- Recording Rights: All rights in the recordings, films, and photographs made and/or taken by the Production Company at the Property and in the transmissions made by the Production Company from the Property shall vest in the Production Company, which shall be entitled to assign, license, and/or exploit the same by all means and in all media as the Production Company may at its absolute discretion elect.

Founded in the 19th century, Newland Allotments has a rich history deeply rooted in the cultural and agricultural heritage of Hull. Over the years, it has evolved from a traditional allotment space into a dynamic community garden, embracing sustainable practices and providing a welcoming environment for residents from all walks of life. The allotment site encompasses over 270 plots spanning over 26 acres, each contributing to the lush green landscape of Newland.
