Tile making and sculpture was something the Ancient Egyptians were familiar with – and now is your chance to follow in their footsteps.
With the help of Lyn Grant from Fangfoss Pottery, children will have the chance to create their own ceramic tile based on the ancient Egypt exhibitions at the Ferens Art Gallery.
The tile, measuring 13cm X13cm will be made in bas relief – embossed and applied detail will be added to the surface. This could feature one of their gods, pharaohs, hieroglyphs – anything that has inspired you.
The tile will be fired and finished in the pottery and returned to the Ferens where it can be collected in about a month. We will let you know when your tile is available for collection.
The activity is suitable for children aged 6 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please only book a ticket for each child attending the session. Accompanying adults DO NOT need to book a ticket.
Free, booking required
