The Ferens Art Gallery is thrilled to host the closing ceremony of Felabration 2024: Look and Laugh in the UK. Felabration is an annual global festival celebrating the life and legacy of Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. This year’s UK edition, supported by Hull Museums and Arts Council England, is scheduled to take place across several cities, including Sheffield and Hull.
The closing ceremony will feature live performances, art exhibitions, and a vibrant celebration of African music, dance, and culture. This free-toattend event promises an immersive experience, honouring Fela Anikulapo- Kuti’s profound impact on global music and African heritage. Guests can look forward to dynamic performances, DJ sets, and a lively atmosphere, bringing the spirit of Afrobeat to Hull as we conclude this year’s Felabration in style.

The Ferens has a magnificent collection of paintings and sculptures, including works by European Old Masters, portraiture, marine painting, and modern and contemporary British art.
