Curator and researcher Emily Gray will explore the emerging artist from the 1950s to today.
Taking work by New Contemporaries alumni in the Ferens Art Gallery’s permanent collection as a starting point, many of the artists who had their first public airing as a ‘New Contemporary’ have since become internationally acclaimed.
Emily is currently working on her PhD exploring the archive and history of New Contemporaries and its connections to the contemporary period in British Art.
