Well, it’s here again. The annual festive folky face-off between two of the city’s best-loved acts.
Beggar’s Bridge will open proceedings at 8.00pm, with their repertoire of songs inspired by the life, times and folklore of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. They will feature the usual topics of death, trawlers, witches, more death, some more trawlers, another witch, before finishing off with a bit more death, all interspersed with appropriately light-hearted banter!
By the time Beggar’s Bridge finish, it’s hoped that The Hillbillies will still be sober enough to make it onto the stage and do their thing, covering all the folk bases, from the traditional to the punk-influenced, and back again, the way that only they can do it.
