Connecting Paragon Street and Carr Lane in the heart of Hull city centre, Paragon Arcade is a haven for independent traders selling everything from hot food to hair styles, flowers to fashion, bon bons to babywear.
Built in 1861 by Sir Alfred Gelder in the Gothic Revival style, it was listed Grade II in 1994. Hull-based developers Allenby Commercial acquired the building in 2017 and embarked on a major refurbishment, modernising the ground floor units whilst restoring them to their traditional look and feel, and bringing the neglected first floor into use
The businesses themselves are complementary in terms of quality, character and quirkiness and they work together as a community. The arcade now opens seven days a week and adds to Hull’s creative and cultural scene with neighbours coming together to present regular late-night shopping events and live performances.

ALLENBY COMMERCIAL ACQUIRED THE VICTORIAN SHOPPING ARCADE IN HULL CITY CENTRE IN LATE 2017. DATING BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL DESIGN IN 1896 THIS BUILDING HAS A RICH HISTORY SURROUNDING HULL CITY CENTRE. We are currently refurbishing the empty retail units into stunning retail spaces, attracting innovative independent retailers to the quirky City Centre space. We’re working with local businesses to host creative fairs and events within the Arcade. On the first Saturday of every month (exl January) the tenants within the Arcade host a late-night shopping event called “After Hours at Paragon Arcade”.
