The Artists:

Laura da Sousa
Laura’s sound is deeply influenced by the timeless classics of Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, June Carter, and Johnny Cash. These legends have shaped her musical journey, blending traditional country vibes with her unique twist. With each song, Laura aims to create an experience that resonates deeply with listeners, bringing a sense of nostalgia while also offering something fresh and magical.

Elwhaeko
Unique, soulful and northerly vocals drench stories with alluring melodies and bring to life the underbelly of his native Yorkshire. ‘Elwhaeko’ is the solo project of singer/songwriter, Lee Atkinson (formerly Making Dens / JSMG). A modern take on folk and indie guitar music, the hooks are classic and the words offbeat, woven into intricate, beautiful and original melodies. The songs engage through protagonists such as ‘Roxy’, ‘Coco Rose’ and ‘A Devil of a Man’ and expect something similar in tone to that of Nick Cave, Scott Walker and Jarvis Cocker.

Emma Fee
Emma’s music has been described as being evocative and melodic, drawing lyrical inspiration from everyday experiences. Influenced by everything from The Beatles to Bright Eyes, Emma’s acoustic performances are honest, sometimes melancholic, sometimes upbeat and always heartfelt.

John Cox
Hull-based funky folk singer/songwriter John Cox – groove-based acoustic guitar playing is at the core of his songs, and his unique chords provide him with a very distinctive style. Early influences were the strange folk of Bowie and the weird funk of Talking Heads. His sound is dark and soulful with hooky melodies and poetic lyrics.

Ruth Scott
Whirlwind soulstress Ruthie Scott developed a deep love for Ray Charles, Nina Simone, Etta James and Tom Waits to name a few. She is an absolute power house and always leaves her audience wanting more. Her songs evoke visions of smokey basement clubs in the 1950’s where beatniks and jazzheads would party.

Tony Beacock
Tony Beacock is a 28-year-old musician UK Country singer-songwriter from Hull. Tony performs solo as well as with his band on the local circuit and has also been known to perform with a group of friends known as Bloody Bastards. He has been influenced by most types of country music from Hank Williams to the more modern artists such as Charley Crockett, Sturgill Simpson and Coter Wall but his main influences are Townes Van Zandt, Blake Foley and Guy Clark as he loves the storytelling in their songs, and not forgetting that Bruce Springsteen has always been a big part of his life and influences.
