Vaughan Williams Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis

Pauer Concerto for Bassoon and Orchestra

Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4

Conductor: Dan Watson

Bassoon: To be confirmed

The orchestra’s first guest conductor of the season is Dan Watson, who featured in the BBC series All Together Now: The Great Orchestra Challenge, as principal conductor of The People’s Orchestra. His programme takes us from the quiet lyricism of the Vaughan Williams through the exciting virtuosity of Pauer’s bassoon concerto to the splendour of Tchaikovsky at the height of his powers in what is regarded as one of the most towering symphonic achievements in the repertoire.
