Join us to experience the majesty of nature in miniature that is called Bonsai. For this special event Humberside and North East Lincolnshire Bonsai Societies will to come together to show some excellent specimen trees, all from the member’s private collections.
During the day there will be a number of demonstrations covering cultivation, styling and refinement. Starting in Bonsai is certainly not necessarily about buying that ready made tree, but can very much be about starting with young trees from the garden centre.
Take the opportunity to speak to the society members there who will be more than happy to offer advice.
There will a sales table and refreshments, throughout the day.
Both clubs have been active in bonsai for over 25 years and have a wealth of experience in all aspects of bonsai, definitely an event not to be missed.
The word “Bon-sai” is a Japanese term which, literally translated, means “planted in a container”. This art form is derived from an ancient Chinese horticultural practice. Most commonly kept under four feet (or about a metre) in height, Bonsai are not genetically dwarfed plants. Most native trees can be grown outdoors; material from more tropical areas needs at least some protection from the elements in our temperate climate.
Open 10 am to 4 pm
