Young, exciting and highly entertaining – these former BBC Young Folk Award finalists are touring their third studio album, Weave, which sees them further expanding their musical horizons at all levels.

Together they effortlessly fuse elements of Bluegrass, Folk and Old-Time. creating innovative music rooted deeply in tradition. This show promises to be an entertaining, foot-stomping evening and is not to be missed!

Most of their songs are inspired by stories and poetry from Mike Giverin’s home county of Lancashire. The history of the area only really starts around the time of the Industrial Revolution when the cotton industry arrived.

The album is a study of the hardships of life in the Lancashire working classes, with moments of playful respite. Their instrumentals are fast, playful up-tempo, but the songs tell tales of protest, poverty and the fight for freedom as is inevitable with folk songs.

Support will come in the form of Kardomah’s popular ‘performer’s circle’ with three excellent local acts, each taking it in turns to perform one number at a time.
