A talk and tour about the life and legacy of Britain’s longest serving vicar, John Healey Bromby.
Bromby was the Vicar of Hull Holy Trinity for 69 years, stepping down at the age of 97 in 1868. His tenure as Vicar saw many changes both to Holy Trinity and to society; amidst it all, Bromby was a picture of stability.
Find out about his life and the things he did to change Holy Trinity Church in the 1800s, and view rare archive photographs, sketches and illustrations which are making a special appearance for this talk courtesy of the Minster’s archives.
The talk will take place in the Nave of Hull Minster on Friday 7th October at 12:30 pm, lasting for approximately 1 hour. The talk is available free of charge. Spaces can be reserved by booking on our website, but otherwise no booking is required to come along.
