Journey from Life to Afterlife – a talk and tour – 19th Century funeral practices & memorialisation.
Dr Marianne Gilchrist talks about the funeral practices of the Georgian and early Victorian period, discussing burials traditions, mourning and memorialisation. She focusses on prominent funerals in Hull during the 1800’s and 1900’s with reference to those remembered in Hull Minster.
The talk will last 1 hour and will include time for questions and answers. The event will include moving around the building, some floors are uneven but the building is accessible to wheelchairs.
