What does it mean to be human? Can we solve the mystery of who we are by learning more about the brain? Or are we more than the sum total of our neurons? Join Professor John Wyatt as he explores this fascinating and multi-dimensional topic.
John Wyatt is Emeritus Professor of Neonatal Paediatrics, Ethics and Perinatology at University College London and a Senior Researcher at the Faraday Institute, Cambridge. His background is as a consultant neonatologist and as an academic in applied neuroscience researching into the prevention of brain injury in newborn babies.

He has a long-standing interest in ethical dilemmas raised by advances in biomedical technology and engages frequently in public and professional consultations and debates about medical ethics. His book Matters of Life and Death has been translated into more than 10 languages. His recent book, Dying well, deals with the opportunities and challenges which dying brings.
