Goodwin Development Trust have been working with young people to arrange an online arts, well-being and culture festival. Funded by Youth Arts Takeover through Arts Council England, Summer Shutdown Fest is being organised by Do It Project.
You will be able to live stream this three-day festival from the Summer Shutdown Fest YouTube account from 7pm till 10pm on 31st July and 4pm-10pm on the 1st and 2nd August. The festival will be a mixture of interviews with artists, showcases, well-being sessions, comedy and live music and will be fundraising for the WISHH Charity Sensory Room Appeal. Already confirmed to play are Late Night Marauders, The Froot and Saints Among Us with many more to be announced in the coming weeks!
The young people helping to organise the festival wanted to do something positive during lockdown and have adapted well to the circumstances. Thom Sheppard, Keyworker on the Do It Project said: “It’s been amazing to see how we have all been able to adapt during lockdown and to see the young people go above and beyond to work on this festival while doing something positive for the local community.
