Speaker: Peter Asquith-Cowen.
Edgar Allan Poe occupies pride of place amongst the writers of weird, lurid tales and is the cornerstone of the American Gothic mode – no survey of North American fiction would have been complete without him!
The OpenCampus Reading Group is pleased to have Peter Asquith-Cowen, lecturer in local historical issues, host this session looking at four of Poe’s best short stories: ’The Black Cat’, ‘The Masque of the Red Death’, ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ and ‘The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar’.
This session is a must-attend event for any fan of weird, Gothic or horror literature.
