The festival club gives a chance to relax in an informal setting and hear some great music. It offers a chance to wind down after a busy festival day!
Kicking off the weekend’s Club session are performers well known to the festival and theatre. They include:
Pete Bolton is a regular at the festival. He performs earthy, honest and, above all, engaging Americana. Playing banjo and guitar, his set includes ballads and blues from Appalachia and the Southern States as well as more contemporary songs from the likes of Steve Earle and John Hiatt. He has toured extensively both as a solo artist and for many years with his family band, The Whiskey Dogs.
and …
Carrie Martin was at the theatre late in 2022 with Edwina Hayes. She is “possessed of the ability to craft a fine song, nimble finger-picking skill, and a beguiling voice. Her tone rests somewhere between a young Kate Bush and All About Eve’s Julianne Regan: delicate but infused with an inner strength. A perfect combination to showcase her memorable tunes and evocative lyrics. ‘Talk In Colour’ is an infectious pop song that if there is any justice, will be gracing the BBC Radio 2 playlist before long.” – Trevor Raggatt RnR Magazine
