87 Gallery presents The Immensity of Being, a new immersive installation by Hull-based artist Lydia Shearsmith. This will be Shearsmith’s first institutional solo exhibition after graduating from Falmouth University in 2020. Displayed over two floors, visitors will be invited to experience the piece which combines moving image, sound and suspended elements that respond to the movement of air and light in the space.
Lydia Shearsmith is an artist who is primarily concerned with exploring photography as a medium and as a subject matter. Her varied processes allow her to expand image-making into physical space, challenging common definitions of photography.
