Did you know that Hull received its first Royal Charter in 1299 from King Edward I?

Fondly known as Hull’s birth certificate, it started a long legacy in Hull’s history.

Join City Archivist Martin Taylor for an exclusive talk on Hull’s Charters. You can also view King Edward I’s Charter and Queen Victoria’s Letter Patent in our new exhibition, Queen Victoria and Hull.
