On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November, 11am – 4pm, Queen Victoria and her consort Prince would once again like to invite you to join them at the Hull Museums Quarter for a joyous Victorian Christmas celebration.

Join us and immerse yourself in the magic of Christmas past with a wonderful selection of activities!

Main activities:

  • Carousel*
  • Horse and carriage rides*
  • Live Music
  • Historical Characters
In addition to the main attractions there will also be:
  • Victorian and Dickensian Characters (BSL)**
  • Traditional Christmas craft activities
  • Storytelling (BSL)**
  • Fairground organ
  • Food and drink stalls
  • Market stalls

If you’d like, you could come along to the event dressed like a Victorian as you join in the fun! We’ll also have a photo opportunity area with some dress up items and props for you to enjoy.

Charges

*There will be a charge of £2 per person for carousel rides and horse and carriage rides. Cash and card payments will both be available. Children aged 2 and under can ride for free. Charges will also apply for the food and drinks stalls and market stalls.

British Sign Language Interpretation

**A selection of the storytelling sessions and Victorian and Dickensian character performances each day will be British Sign Language interpreted.

Please note that due to the busy nature of this event, no dogs, other than assistance dogs, will be allowed into the event- even in the museum grounds

Journey back 235 million years at the Museums Quarter in Hull's Old Town to encounter sea monsters, Romans and a life-sized woolly mammoth at the Hull and East Riding Museum of Archaeology. Streetlife Museum of Transport brings history to life with all the sights, sounds and smells of the past. The authentic scenes invite you to climb on, get in and explore. Visit the birthplace of William Wilberforce and find out about the transatlantic slave trade in Wilberforce House, re-opened in 2007 following a £1.6 million redevelopment.
