Culture Boards Expressions of Interest
Following the launch of the new Culture & Heritage Strategy and the Music Plan linked to our ambition to become a UNESCO Creative City for Music, Hull City Council is looking to establish a two key sector boards to lead the delivery of its cultural ambition.
Expressions of Interest are being sought for both boards. We are looking for two sector or community leaders to help in the oversight and delivery of the Culture & Heritage Strategy and delivery plan. These two places will join the Hull Culture and Heritage Board, alongside partners from the University, Middle Child Theatre, Hull College, and the Council as well as national leading culture and heritage representatives. The Board is the next step of the steering group who oversaw the development of the strategy, acting as a critical friend and advisory panel throughout the engagement and writing of the strategy and delivery plan.
The board will be responsible in ensuring the Culture & Heritage Strategy is successfully delivering the city ambition of becoming one of the world’s most progressive cities in community-led culture and heritage. Through collaboration, our city will be a global leader, recognised as a forward-thinking destination and place to make, and experience quality work.
The Hull Music Board is a new entity for the city, and will oversee the Music Plan, advocate for music across all genres, from community to venues, education to industry skills. We are looking for individuals who can represent the sector and the city at a regional and national level. The Music Board will underpin the Culture & Heritage Strategy and will link to the overarching Culture & Heritage Board. They will work to develop music in the city and support the 2027 resubmission to UNESCO for Music City status.
The deadline for expressions of interest is 9.00am Monday 2 June.
